This is a rapid DC EV charger, CHR-28Q made by Electway.
The charging unit has a max output of 28kw and will charge a typical electric car in as little as 1 to 2 hours from empty to full, 4x faster than a standard AC fast charger.
A typical electric car is limited to 7kw per hour when charging from AC, with DC however the limit is typically 50 to 100kw per hour, so the CHR-28Q can charge at its max rate for most vehicles.
It comes with either a 5m long CCS or Chademo connector, or you can order it with both connector types, so it can charge any make and model of vehicle that has DC charging capabilities (most full electric cars can charge with DC). You simply swap the connector using the quick release attachment depending on the vehicle model you are charging.
The unit is also supplied with a 5m CEE cable for the supply side.
Ideal for a commercial premises with a single phase commercial supply, such as a car dealership or car park
The unit is portable and can be unplugged from the supply and moved to another location with ease, so multiple vehicles can be rapid charged without moving them.
The supply needs to be 1-phase from a 125amp CEE socket or larger.
